Hello, I'm Drew, Alan's partner in life and in AEOStudios.

On 23 August 2025, he suffered a massive heart attack. He wasn't supposed to make it, but he beat the odds. He's been on life support and under medically induced coma since then.

On 29 August 2025, he received a pacemaker, which will be worn through the rest of his life.

In the meantime, the shop rent is due, Alan's car is broken down, and mine is on its death knell, and we need to be able to make some of the more important shop and home expenses. I can cover some of it, but it never seems enough.

Alan's prognosis is still unknown, though I have been told it will be a long, slow, and difficult recovery.

My main goal is to keep the shop open long enough for him to decide which direction he wants to take the shop in. Which means being able to cover rent, utilities, and transport, as well as hopefully provide a small stipend to those who come and help me crank out all the work that Alan is working on. Additionally, because Florida doesn't recognize Civil Unions, such as ours from Vermont in 2002, I may need to retain counsel to navigate potential legal issues.

Alan has shared his talents locally, nationally, and internationally. He has owned and operated AEOStudios since 1996. He is known as "The Godfather of Halloween in Hong Kong". He was the lead makeup artist on Terror On Church Street. Alan and AEOStudios has also been active in the Orlando theatre scene, making props, prosthetics, and providing makeup for many of our local theatres and schools. Finally, he has helped countless artists find their footing and establish themselves by mentoring, teaching, and having them work with him side by side to understand what being a working artist truly means.
