Our reliable car with 300,000 miles has blown a head gasket. Our family really needs a car during this time to carry my husband to appointments and all the other daily tasks in between. Fortunately, we have found another vehicle but are unable to put together the funds at this time on our own.

Our goal is $4,000. This would cover the car we have found, our homeopath doctor appointments, and the supplements needed to continue treatment.

Our story: My husband worked 17 years as a journeyman through Local 649 as a heavy equipment operator. Unfortunately, when his health problems started over 12 years ago, he was no longer able to support us. Our family has not been able to help, and our doctors have no answers. We tried to get him to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, but that was unsuccessful as well. By the grace of God, we landed back in Michigan. Thankfully, we have a home with an amazing landlord and my business, Sara's Salves. I also work in the summer cleaning houses and vacation rentals. At this time, my husband needs me here as his caregiver. It has been very overwhelming, to say the least, and we have to get him better. All of this, and the stress that follows, has caused me some health problems as well. We were able to get to a naturopath doctor in 2021, and ever since then, we have been working together to heal my husband. She has been helpful with explaining Lyme disease and all that comes with it. Before he had surgery last year, we changed his diet, supplemented with herbs, and did parasite cleanses. Unfortunately, he has not bounced back since having COVID and surgery, resulting in him losing too much weight.

At this point, my husband is pretty miserable. It affects every part of your life. He has said, “There are worse things than dying... It's like being trapped in your own body.” Chronic Lyme is a very tricky and crazy disease. It has not been easy to see my husband like this.
