Aid Sarah Wible's Healing Journey

Hi, I am Mackenzie Swanson. I am reaching out on behalf of Sarah and Aaron Wible, as well as their two young boys. We're raising funds to help cover Sarah's medical bills and Aaron's time off work to be with her at the hospital.

Early in the morning of Monday, November 18, 2024, Sarah was taken to the hospital with severe pain and exhaustion, assuming she just had the flu. It was quickly discovered that she had much more than the flu. About a decade ago, Sarah had to have open-heart surgery to replace a heart valve with a pig heart valve. When there is a foreign object in your body, such as a pig valve, you are more susceptible to infections—especially after being at the dentist. Sarah went to the dentist a few weeks ago, and apparently, her preventative antibiotic did not hold off the bacteria. The bacteria from her routine dental cleaning found its way to the pig valve in her heart. This has caused a couple of different problems:

1. An infection in her heart that then spread to her whole body, causing her to be septic. This has caused a great deal of inflammation in her body. She has extreme pain in every muscle of her body, making it impossible for her to move any part of her body. This has also caused her to become very exhausted and weak.

2. The infection has settled in the pig valve, hardening the tissue and will lead to another valve replacement in the coming weeks.

Sarah was transferred to the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. Her cardiac doctors are there as well as her family. She is expected to be in the hospital for a minimum of 2-3 weeks for the infection and heart surgery within a week or two of that, Lord willing everything goes well and as planned. This is a long time to be away from home, and the medical bills will continue to add up quickly.

The Wible family has a strong faith in the Lord. They continue to hold steadfast and trust in His plans. We all know that He has the power to heal Sarah and provide for their family. We care deeply for the Wible family and know many, many other people do too. We are using this GoFundMe as a way for people near and far to be able to come together to support them.
