Hi, I'm Jessica and I am Sadie's mom.

On September 11th, Sadie went to the walk-in clinic in Paynesville for a headache she had had for the last couple of days. She was transferred to the ER because they wanted to give her fluids and check her out more. At about 5:30 she had a CT done and it was discovered she had a Central Neurocytoma. Upon this discovery she was moved to the U of M for surgery as soon as possible.

After 3 days in the ICU, on Monday, September 15th, she had surgery to have the tumor removed. The surgery was a success, they remove the whole tumor and the initial diagnosis was the tumor was benign. Sadie was moved back to the ICU for recovery. She had a drain in her brain that was helping to remove the spinal fluid from the brain until her body was able to remove it naturally. At some point the drain tube moved and needed to be repositioned as it was resting on the left ventricle. Once that was completed, she started to make amazing recovery steps.

After 11 days in the Neuro ICU, Sadie and the kids moved in with Arnie and I so we could help her to keep recovering with the restrictions she had placed on her from the doctors. With the help of her Dad (Cory Eggert), step-mom (Katie Eggert), and friend (Stella Lieser), we were able to help her around the clock and keep the recovery path going.

She still has a long way to go until she is living a "normal" life, but she is on the right path. She still has to be away from work for another couple of weeks and then can only go back part-time in the beginning.
