Donate to Aid Robin and Samara's Epilepsy Journey

This is a GoFundMe page in support of our dear friend and sister, Robin Massie, and her daughter Samara. Robin is a professional musician and an ICU nurse, and Samara is in her Senior year of high school.

In August 2024, Samara had her first seizure. The seizures escalated in frequency over the next few months, resulting in a diagnosis of Epilepsy in November 2024.

Treating Epilepsy requires finding the right medication out of a few options, and entails long hospital admissions. Robin continues to be a tender, indomitable presence in Samara's life, staying with her and comforting her as much as possible through multiple ER visits and the challenging treatment journey. To do this, Robin has given up many shifts of nursing work and declined and postponed many musical performances, putting her beloved daughter's needs first.

The medical costs of helping Samara into a stable, new normal, estimate to be in the many thousands. The amount of income Robin has given up along the way is significant as well.

Robin is the most warm hearted, generous, intelligent, strong, and faithful woman anyone could hope to meet. She remains her daughter's biggest ally in the middle of extreme stress and uncertainty. Even as she does this, she is deeply interested and caring for everyone around her.

My hope is that we, her friends, colleagues, and community, can show her our love and care through donating towards the medical costs and cost of living in this difficult time. All funds will go directly to Robin.
