Donate to Aid Remy's Long Road to Recovery

My name is Minerva Perez-Lopez, a local physician and, most importantly, a parent of two children. My family is organizing a GoFundMe (with permission) for our oldest child’s best friend, Ramiro Jr. (Remy), and his parents, Ramiro Sr. and Maria Figueroa. On October 20th, Remy’s parents got a knock in the early morning that he had been involved in a horrific car accident and had sustained multiple injuries and was critical. Due to the nature of his injuries, it was uncertain if he would survive. Through the amazing work of the trauma doctors caring for him and the love and prayer of his friends and family, he is making a miraculous recovery but has a long road ahead of him, and the long-term effects of his injuries are yet to be determined. He has been transferred to a rehabilitation center in the Bay Area where they will focus on his rehabilitation needs. The medical bills, as you can imagine, are mounting, and both Ramiro and Maria have been at his bedside, missing work and forgoing wages to care for Remy. Initially reluctant to do this fund, the realization of what lies ahead after the initial shock has worn off has become apparent, and they have agreed with the organization of the fund.
