We are creating this GoFundMe for Syvilla and Pat Stacy to assist with bills, medical expenses, gas, food, and whatever else the Stacy family needs during this time. I have given a rundown of the last several days, please keep the family in your prayers. Pray that Pat improves and is able to become more alert and responds to the medical treatment he is receiving.

Thursday:

He was admitted to the hospital due to a GI bleed (bleeding in the stomach). They found and treated an ulcer that was causing him to vomit blood. Once that was treated, he started recovering from that initial issue.

Sunday to Monday:

Over the weekend, his mental state changed—he was confused and not fully responsive. By Monday, they discovered he was having seizures, which they initially thought might be the cause of his confusion. They started treating him with medications to stop the seizures and also used lactulose to help clear toxins from his body.

Tuesday:

By Tuesday morning, the seizures had stopped, and by Tuesday evening, he was mostly clear of them. However, he developed a fever on Tuesday afternoon, and they began treating that as well to bring his temperature down.

Wednesday Morning:

Today, the doctor confirmed that his altered mental state is actually due to his liver not processing toxins properly, not the seizures. They are continuing to use lactulose to clear out those toxins. He’s still sedated but they are hoping he will become more alert as his body clears those toxins.
