On July 29, 2025, our beloved 3-year-old Shih Tzu, Nugget, was tragically struck by an SUV right in front of our home. The driver never stopped—just kept going—leaving Nugget behind, badly injured and in agonizing pain.
He suffered blunt force trauma to his abdomen and rear, along with multiple abrasions and severe bruising. Nugget was rushed to the ER, where he remained overnight battling kidney failure caused by the impact. Thanks to the quick care of the veterinary team, he pulled through with intensive medication and fluids.
While we’re incredibly grateful that he survived, Nugget’s recovery journey is just beginning. He’s now facing a long and painful healing process. For a dog that is normally so full of life—friendly, playful, and joyful—it has been heartbreaking to see him in such distress. He cries often, unable to find relief from the pain.
Accidents can happen, but walking away from an injured, helpless animal without even stopping—that’s something we can’t understand. It’s a cruel reminder of how thoughtless some people can be.
We’re doing everything we can to help Nugget heal, and we humbly ask for support from our friends and family during this difficult time—whether through prayers, emotional support, or contributions toward his ongoing care.
Thank you for keeping Nugget in your thoughts.
