In March I was diagnosed with lung cancer. After 2 months of testing, it was narrowed down to stage 1 NSCLC adenocarcinoma. Plan of treatment was to remove the upper left line of my lung which was done on June 9th.
This recovery has been one of the hardest things I have ever endured. I work hard everyday to be able to breathe, talk, walk, and find the joys in life again. I haven’t lost faith just greatly underestimated how much strength and patience would be needed to get through this.
I have short term disability, but as of today they have not approved my claim despite being turned in well before my surgery. As of now I am not getting paid to be off for recovery. Going back to work right now is not an option. My bills won’t stop or wait until I’m back to work to resume.
I currently owe a little under $1k in medical bills, but my lender for my car isn’t budging or able to compromise on my payments. I also have to cover my insurance premiums for work because they aren’t taken out of short term disability which I am not getting yet because it hasn’t been approved.
All I’m asking for is a little help to get me until short term kicks in and I have money coming in.
Thank you so much for listening to my story! I appreciate you all!!
