Support Kat's Healing Journey Post-Surgery

Hi friends, family, and kind strangers,

My name is Mel and I’m reaching out to ask for support for my amazing partner, who is currently recovering from a recent laparoscopic myomectomy to remove two fibroids—one 10 cm and the other 3 cm.

If you’re not familiar, fibroids are growths that develop in or around the uterus. While common, they can become very disruptive. In her case, they caused severe anemia, ongoing pelvic and hip tension, debilitating menstrual pain, and significantly affected her quality of life. After trying to manage symptoms for a long time, surgery became the necessary next step.

I’m relieved and grateful to share that the procedure went well, she is healing steadily, and—most importantly—everything was benign with no signs of cancer or endometriosis.

My partner is a dedicated massage therapist, and her work is very physically demanding. Right now, she’s under strict recovery instructions—not to lift anything over 10 pounds or use her abdominal muscles—which means she’ll be out of work for at least six weeks.

We’re asking for help to ease the financial burden of this time away from work. Funds will go toward:

- 6 weeks of rent and living expenses

- Medical bills from the surgery and follow-up appointments

- Daily expenses and food

Kat devotes her workdays to caring for others, helping them heal and attune to their bodies. Beyond professional responsibilities, she consistently shows up for her community—offering her time, energy, and resources to those in need. Kat has been a steady, generous presence for so many of us. My hope is that this time we can support her by giving her the time she needs to care for herself and heal, without the added pressure of financial uncertainty.
