If you know my mom, you know how fiercely she loves every single person she comes across. She gives so much to so many all around her, and now, we are asking for your help in her time of need.

A few weeks ago, mom went to the hospital with severe pain, equal to childbirth. After a few different emergency room visits, an ambulance ride, and many tests and scans, doctors have found that she had a large number of kidney stones that need to be lasered out. Due to a lack of available resources for her surgery, she had a stent put in via surgery a little over a week ago until she is able to have her scheduled surgery. As a result of the surgery, she ended up getting a pulmonary embolism, and she is lucky it was not worse than it is. Due to the embolism, her surgery to get the kidney stones has been postponed for a month so she can recover and hopefully keep additional complications and clots from forming in her next surgery.

As you can see, there are lots of hoops to go through in order for mom to make a full recovery. While the initial kidney stone issue was not hugely concerning, the pulmonary embolism raises the stakes of what was supposed to be a decently easy procedure.

All of these different procedures and appointments are expensive, and as a result of the health issues at hand, mom has used all of her PTO and has been taking time off unpaid to rest and heal. My mom is an incredible woman, the most amazing and strong woman I know.
