Donate to Aid Karen Alicea's Family in Their Time of Need

Hello, my name is Kim Linticum. My dear friend and neighbor is Karen Alicea. She has been at the Children’s Hospital since January 14, 2025. While at work, her child, Kali, was involved in a terrible golf cart accident. As a result, Kali was taken into emergency surgery within 9 minutes of arrival to the emergency room to relieve the pressure from bleeding around her brain. She has recovered very well from the initial injury and has continued to make progress in neuro rehab in Atlanta. However, Kali still has to undergo one more surgery and will need to continue therapy for the foreseeable future. Kali has made a miraculous recovery much due to the quickness and response of her medical team, those around her and the grace of God’s goodness and the hedge of protection that has been around Kali since day one. She still has a long way to go. Karen has remained by her daughter’s side the entire time and has been out of work as a school teacher to care for Kali.

Most recently Karen and Kali are dealing with the unexpected loss of Jason who has been struggling with mental illness. His battle ended April 5, 2025 . Given the unexpected loss of Jason and Kali’s ongoing recovery, this go fund me will go directly to Karen to help offset living expenses, funeral cost for Jason and ongoing medical expenses for Kali . This family has endured a lot of hardships over the years and this golf cart accident and death has affected their entire family.
