Hurricane Helene Relief Fund for Kai and Ashley

My name is Reya, from Humboldt County and I am starting this GoFundMe for my brother and his girlfriend who were affected by the recent Hurricane.

As you may be aware, Hurricane Helene swept through several states last week devastating communities from Florida to Tennessee. The after effects continue to stress communities as they face power outages, cell service interruptions, contaminated water supplies and gas and food shortages. Unfortunately my brother Kai and his gf Ashley were caught in the devastation. A tree fell on the home they share damaging their bedroom and kitchen along with allowing water into the rest of the home. In an attempt to flee with their pets, they were then faced with flooding, mudslides and downed trees and power lines. After 48 hours of losing contact, they were finally able to make their way to Ashley’s grandparents home where damage was also evident but less severe and water and food resources available.

In the wake of this catastrophe which has affected their entire region, when their town and greater community is suffering so much loss, we hope we can offset some of the horrors they faced and uphill battle of rebuilding and replacing essential items with some financial relief.

Funds will also help to offset lost wages as they take time to do repairs and sort through debris.
