On 10/17/2025, my husband suffered a severe firework accident that changed our lives in an instant. The explosion severely injured both of his hands—his right hand required surgical reconstruction, and his left hand is broken. Between both hands, he now has five metal rods in place and faces a long, uncertain road to recovery. Other surgeries are to be determined. Physical therapy is inevitable.
Josh was VERY lucky as he would have had internal damages/possibly lost his life if his phone didn’t take the force of the blow.
He’s expected to be out of work for a minimum of three months, with a six-month recovery or longer before he can fully return. Unfortunately, during this time, disability will only cover about 1/6th of his monthly income.
With his job on hold and our regular bills continuing—mortgage, utilities, groceries, car payment, and medical expenses—we are facing serious financial strain. We’re asking for help to keep our family afloat so Josh doesn’t have the option to worry and can rest and recover.
If anyone knows Josh, you understand he is not one to want to rest no matter how small the task. This is one way you can help him physically and mentally heal from this tragedy. Your kindness and support mean more to us than words can express.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting our family through this. ❤️
