I write today with a prayerful heart for a friend and fellow inspector and his family.

A fellow veteran of the home inspection profession here in the Philadelphia market has fallen victim to an illness borne from a tick bite, doctors say. It’s not unusual for a small inspection company (1 inspector) to refer work to a fellow inspector when going on vacation or just not available to accommodate a client’s schedule. When I got word that I was doing an inspection for Jim, I called to thank him (Tuesday the 10th) and learned that he was ‘sick’ with something that he’s been fighting for almost 2 weeks. He resigned that day to go to the ER. A couple of days later, I learned that Jim’s illness is in fact a parasite borne from a tick bite while gardening in his backyard. This creature has been attacking various organs of his body. Since his admittance to the hospital, I’m told that he’s taken a turn for the worse. His wife of more than 30 years is understandably distraught. A one-man inspection company cannot stay out of work for long before things get pretty tight. He has been the home’s breadwinner for as long as I’ve known him (20+ years). I am trying to do what I can by establishing this GoFundMe page to help Jim and his family while he’s out of work fighting this thing. I know that Jim would do the same if it was one of his colleagues! For those of faith, I would ask that you pray and believe God for a full recovery.
