I never thought I'd be making a gofundme, but I also never expected to be diagnosed with cancer. A little over a year ago, I began experiencing severe back pain. I went to multiple doctors and even a specialist with each telling me I had sciatica and basically that I'd just have to tough it out. They took x-rays and found nothing. I probably spent a few thousand between those visits and other medical things that I hoped would make me feel better. It go so bad that I could not get around for several weeks and could just barely get to the door to let my dogs out. I had even stopped eating to avoid having to get up. In November, I went to see another specialist who instantly saw the red flags and pulled some strings to get me an MRI ASAP. I got a call that same night from him telling me that I had a tumor on the spine and needed to check into an ER. I drove back to Houston that same night.. And, since life always throws curveballs, I also had a minor hit and run accident on the way. Once I was in the ER, I was told I probably had cancer. I got a few xrays and an MRI that also showed a fracture on the spine that was caused by the tumor. A few days later, I met with my oncologist who confirmed the diagnosis but my family and I had relief after hearing the treatments that can be done. He wanted to start immediately as his concern was permanent injury or even being paralyzed since the tumor had gotten big enough to close off some of the spine. Any little bit would help as I'm not able to work until chemo is completely done. I just need to keep up with hospital bills and every day life bills.
