UPDATE: Gary passed away as of 1:55 am this morning 12/17/25. After being on the ventilator for 29 days, there was significant damage to his brain from the swelling & bleeding and his health continued to decline.

We will be visiting the funeral home today to make his final arrangements. Any support you can provide will definitely be appreciated.

On November 17th, my father Gary passed out while at home. When talking to him afterward, he told me he wasn't feeling good and was going to lay down for a while. I called him later that evening, and he said he was sick and couldn't get out of bed. I had my daughter go over and help him with his dog (who's diabetic) and call 911. A few hours later, I spoke with the hospital, and they said he had pneumonia and was stable. I drove 6.5 hours, overnight, to be there, in Ohio, Tuesday morning with him. Over the next 2 days, his condition went back and forth until Thursday morning when he became unresponsive. I requested a CT scan on his head while they were doing one on his chest. A little while later, the doctor and nurses came in telling me they were life-lifting him to a medical center in Cleveland, OH. He had had a stroke and had swelling on his brain as well as fluid leaking at the back of his head, and they were going to open his scalp to release the pressure as well as put a drainage tube in place.

I am doing this GoFundMe to help with travel expenses & whatever else may come up from this. i am traveling back and forth between his home and the hospital (1 hr 30 mins one way), and I am making this trip a couple of times a day (costing me roughly $60 in gas every couple days) due to his dog needing insulin every 12 hours. While i will be doing this, i will be unable to work until we figure out what all is going to happen. If you could help out in anyway I would appreciate. I know this is just the beginning of a long road ahead of us as I will become his caregiver until he's able to get back on his feet. Any and all help would be appreciated.
