Hello Everyone,
My brother’s name is Gabriel and he recently turned 21 years old on September 18th. My brother suffers from epileptic seizures that he was first diagnosed with, and a couple of months later, he began to grow a very small ball of tissue on his chest that didn’t seem quite concerning since it wasn’t causing him any pain. We kept asking the doctors at his general hospital visits what it could possibly be, and they would all say it was extra tissue growing outside of his chest area. My mother took him to a primary physician who did some tests on that ball of tissue and told my mother that it was an aggressive mediastinal seminoma tumor in his chest cavity that also almost reaches his lung. The physician then referred her to a specialist to get a second opinion, and it was very difficult to get an appointment set up. My mother called for weeks and insisted on getting my brother an appointment. Finally, after almost 2 months, my brother was able to get an appointment and was diagnosed with a large mass in the right mediastinum, extending to the right lobe as well as into the chest wall with erosion of the sternum, measuring approximately 9.8 x 11.3 cm. There is mass effect on the heart, and it causes him pain to inhale deeply. My brother will begin aggressive chemotherapy this Monday, and we are trying to find all the help we can get for these expenses. I would greatly appreciate and thank everyone who is able to donate during these hard times.
