Rebuilding Red Hills, Westmoreland
Organized by Shadaa Cunningham
Hi, I’m Shadaa — born and raised in Jamaica, now living in the U.S. My heart is with my hometown of Red Hills District, Westmoreland, which was devastated by Hurricane Melissa.
This storm tore through our community and left families with nothing — roofs ripped away, homes flooded, roads destroyed. Many are now sleeping on damp floors, trying to keep their children warm while figuring out how to start over.
Even from miles away, I couldn’t just sit back and watch. That’s why I started this GoFundMe — to help my community rebuild, one roof and one family at a time.
Your donations will go directly toward:
️ Food and clean drinking water
️ Roofing materials and tarps for damaged homes
️ Mattresses, bedding, and clothing for displaced families
Generators, flashlights, and batteries for homes still without power
Cleaning and hygiene supplies to prevent illness
I’ll be personally purchasing and shipping barrels filled with these essentials to Jamaica by the end of November 2025, and my mother and trusted community members will distribute them directly to those most in need.
Red Hills is a small place, but it’s full of heart. We’ve always supported each other — now, I’m asking for a little help so we can stand strong again.
Your kindness, whether through a donation or a share, truly means the world.
Together, we can bring hope and stability back to the families of Red Hills.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤️
