This is from Kathy Clobridge. My dear friend Crystal Bailey is a naturalized American living and working in the US as a Postmaster on Cape Cod. Crystal comes from a community in Jamaica called Gordon Whitehouse in the parish of Westmoreland. When Hurricane Melissa hit, her friends and family there lost everything.

Have a look at the images and videos to see the devastation- and try to imagine this level of loss. Even the hospital is destroyed. The folks in Gordon Whitehouse used a hospital in a neighboring town, Saint Elizabeth. One of the video links below shows you the inside of the hospital during the storm. It’s unimaginably sad.
