On Wednesday, September 10th, my niece's fiancé, Cody Beus was involved in a devastating car crash while in Nevada for his job as a Life Flight pilot. The front of his truck was completely crushed in and Cody was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital. He was was then Life Flighted to the University of Utah.
He suffered multiple injuries in the crash; a fractured back, a broken nose, numerous fractures to his face, facial wounds requiring over 100 stitches, and a trauma hernia that required surgery to prevent it from causing damage to his internal organs.
Currently a Life Fight pilot, Cody has always had a love of flying, whether it be for work or for fun, with drones or helicopters. Due to the nature of his injuries he will not be cleared to fly for 6 to 12 months, putting the burden of both medical and household bills squarely on the shoulders of his sweet fiancé, Kilee.
Cody and Kilee met in 2021 and have become one another's support system in all things, including the creation of a blended family with Kilee's son, Kaison (11), and Cody's son, Luke (13), and two daughters, Kate (15), and Kendal (11).
They have built a life and a home together and have been planning a wedding, scheduled to take place on Friday, September 19th - less than one week from now.
Kilee works as a Pharmacy Tech but is needing to miss work to care for Cody and their children. She was also planning time off for their upcoming nuptials. (They are determined to carry on with their wedding "even if he has to get married in a wheelchair".)
Cody and Kilee know that they have countless medical bills coming their way, as well as knowing that they will still need to pay for their home and regular bills, but will now be attempting to do so with only Kilee's income.
Cody and Kilee are both incredibly hard workers who have always prided themselves on being able to support their family, so it isn't easy for them to ask for help, but after some pressure from friends and family they've agreed to let us start this fundraiser.
If you know them, you know they are incredible people who deserve the world, and if you don't know them, take our word for it. They're very loved.
If you are able to donate any amount, it will be gratefully accepted and used to keep them ahead of the bills that will quickly start multiplying.
