Life has thrown me a curveball, and right after my father passed in March, I was diagnosed with colon cancer. I've been fortunate to have the tumor removed but it was a lot bigger than expected and now is requiring an aggressive treatment of chemo for the next six months.

As you know, being a chef requires movement and lifting that I cannot do at this time, so working isn't really an option. I have also learned that Maryland doesn't offer short-term disability, and disability doesn't help unless you are "disabled" for more than a year ...... which leaves me in a quagmire of what the hell am I going to do?

Which brings me to this. I am asking for help from anyone willing to offer something towards my expenses during the next six months of treatment. It is going to be a long and hard road, and any support will greatly help me ..... and keep in mind, I'm NOT someone to ask for help but at this point I need it.
