Hello everyone,

My name is Sam Sem. I’ve lived in America for over 40 years, originally arriving as a refugee from Cambodia. My family and community made great sacrifices to help me escape the tyranny of the Khmer Rouge and build a new life in the United States.

Today, I have a wonderful family and a caring community here in the U.S. We are deeply concerned about the recent crisis unfolding between Thailand and Cambodia. I wanted to share an opportunity with those I know—and others who have a heart for helping those in need.

More than 300,000 Cambodian citizens have fled the Cambodian-Thai border, driven from their homes by a conflict they have no power to stop. They’ve lost everything.

I’ve been actively helping not only my own family, but also many others in the affected communities. While I hope this is only a temporary crisis, the reality is that thousands are now living in tents in the jungle, uncertain how long they’ll be displaced.

Rather than wait for others to take action, I felt compelled to do what I could—immediately.

With the help of my family, we’ve built a small but effective network to deliver basic necessities—such as clothes, food, and temporary shelters—to as many people as possible.

Today, I’m humbly asking for any support you might be able to offer. I understand these are uncertain times for many, and I’m not asking for much. But even the smallest contribution can go a long way in making a real difference for someone who desperately needs help.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read this and view the images of those affected. It truly matters—both that we recognize the suffering of others, and that we acknowledge those who step up to help.
