Our sweet 2 ½-year-old Brynlee has been through more in the past week than most of us face in a lifetime. What started as a common cold quickly turned serious when she developed Rhino/Enterovirus and began struggling to breathe. After five days of high fevers, she was rushed by ambulance to the hospital and admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) with acute hypoxic respiratory failure.

Doctors soon discovered that Brynlee was battling a very severe and complex case of bacterial pneumonia along with a large pleural effusion — a dangerous buildup of fluid in her chest cavity that is pressing on her organs and lungs.

In the past week, Brynlee has undergone two procedures, including the placement of a chest tube to drain the infection and a PICC line for ongoing treatments. She is scheduled for another surgery to remove the remaining fluid and infection from her chest cavity — an invasive but necessary step toward recovery. Despite continued fevers and needing oxygen support, this brave little girl keeps fighting with all her strength. There have been multiple moments where her life hung in the balance, but Brynlee continues to show incredible resilience.

We are raising funds to help cover medical expenses and living costs while her parents are both on unpaid leave from work to remain by her side during this critical time. This will allow them to focus entirely on Brynlee’s care and recovery without the added stress of financial strain.
