On October 31st Our Sons life was changed forever, in an instant when we received the call that our son was involved in a severe car accident on his way into work. At the scene of the accident his little Ford Ranger truck had hit a pole at the intersection on Hwy 141 and was completely disintegrated, split in 2 and wrapped around the pole. When it split in half he was seatbelted into the cab and that's when his legs were split and he had lost a lot of blood Adin was unresponsive and not breathing An angel in the form of a nurse and officer worked on Adin giving him CPR when EMT arrived there was no heart rhythm so they couldn't use the defibrillators to jump start his heart After 10 minutes of working on Adin he started breathing again He had tourniquet's applied to both legs to stop the bleeding. Adins was transferred to Mercy Trauma Center and where they gave him multiple units of blood and intubated on the breathing machine They were able to stabilize himWe were then told that he was going to have both legs amputated. The right leg had his tibia bone broke in half protruding through the skin and they would not be able to save it and had to be amputated. On the left leg his tibia was completely crushed and there was no blood flow to it so it was also amputated. Both legs also had broken Femur bones that had to have rods put in. We were also told Adin has a brain bleed, colasped lung, laceration of the spleen, broken left radius bone that had to have pins put in it through surgery, broken ribs, pelvis and hips that require surgery. It is only by the Grace of God and all the Angels by his side that Adin has survived this and is still alive. The Police, Fire dept, and EMTs on the scene have been in touch with us since the accident are over joyed and in shock that Adin lived through this they did not expect him to make it. Our Son is a TRUE MIRACLE but we have a very long road ahead of us. So far Adin has had 7 surgeries. The right leg has had several surgeries due to metal and paint debris from his truck being inside of it and then infection so it has been amputated to now being half way up his thigh. I have been in the Hospital with him round the clock 38 days to be his support and help him with his memory loss. We also have a psychiatrist and therapy starting with him to help deal with the loss of his legs and the constant pain he's in. Our next step when released from the Hospital will be for him to go to rehabilitation while the amputated wounds heal. He will come home in a wheelchair chair so everything will have to be set up to make it safe and give him the care he needs until they can start him with the prosthetic legs.
