Hello everyone. I am a 40 year old Army veteran, and am diagnosed with Epilepsy. The diagnosis is not service related so the VA will not give me a disability rating. I deal with seizures on a weekly/daily basis, as well as the side effects of my medication. All of this has caused me to lose two jobs over the past three years since my diagnosis. I have been unable to find another job for months due to my condition.
I was denied unemployment through the state of Michigan, despite my health problems. I have started a disability process, but will almost surely be denied. If that happens I am hiring a lawyer to dispute the claim. Meanwhile I have no money to live on, and can't drive both per the law and fear of having a seizure behind the wheel. I have already had a seizure behind the wheel just over a year ago, with my 12 year old daughter in the car. Thankfully neither of us were hurt. I have her half time and was on the way home after picking her up.
The disability process takes a long time within the state of Michigan, so please if you have it in your heart to donate please do so. Friends and families ability to help is extremely limited, and I can’t work with my seizures. Thank you!
