My daughter and granddaughter are living through the nightmare of the devastating wildfires in California. To hear my daughter say the wind is so strong, the power is out, and then WE HAVE TO EVACUATE is not something I ever dreamed of. They had to leave immediately with the clothes on their back. My daughter, granddaughter, their two cats, and kitten fled to the Convention Center for shelter. They, like many others, don't know what's next. They, like many others, are overwhelmed emotionally. Their life has been interrupted, and who knows how long the recovery will be. They are among the 180,000+ under mandatory evacuations. The needs will vary. The emotional recovery, financial recovery, grief, loss, and devastation from this heartbreaking, devastating event will be challenging. This is extremely tough. You hear and read some cruel things about California. Some people think only the rich and famous live there, and they'll be fine. No. It doesn't matter if you're rich, middle class, or the everyday working single parent like my daughter, an event like this can impact you in many ways. My daughter and granddaughter are like many others who were living their everyday life, and now it has changed. They don't know what's next. They are evacuees, grateful to be alive. I'm grateful they are physically safe... my daughter, granddaughter, and grandcats. I'm praying for them and all of California. If you care to, please donate to this cause. God bless.
