May 18th update:
Quiet desparation has set in. I only have 3 months to go. Can you help me over this hump? I have two unpaid electric and water bills past due for both April and May.
I want to give my sincere thanks for your support in the past. It helped me so much the last year. My kidney pains have subsided for now. I am on a 99% vegetarian diet but too weak to work. My landlord raised the rent $200 to $2030 a month. Our SSI is only $2000 combined per month, leaving us short about $700 for bills and what little food we can muster.
I had to resend my application for the veteran's home in Yountville, they wanted my bank statement. I have about $43 in my savings. The waiting list is now less than 3 months. As soon as I get accepted I won't have to come up with $700 I need every month for rent and utility bills. Plus I will have access to my health needs and saving me the many trips I take each month for appointments.
Four years ago my health started failing. First, I had diverticulosis with sepsis. I recovered after 8 days in the hospital on IVs. 2 years ago I had pneumonia. Then I got myeloid leukemia, which I currently battle with many blood tests and phlebotomies. My wife and I contacted COVID last year but I continued working part time when able to support my wife until I was stricken with type 3 kidney disease. Since then I have passed seven kidney stones, lost a lot of weight and have been sleep deprived for months. I wake up at 2 or 3 in the morning every night thinking about bills. I am a Christian with a Doctor of Divinity degree. I have spent my life giving to others in need and now I am asking for some help. Please donate what you can, for I find money is short and I have deep concern for my wife and family who I love dearly. I haven't worked at all for the last six months due to my weak condition, plus my high risk of heart attack or strokes. I rarely drive now, especially with the gas prices. I sold my truck in February because I have been flat broke this year. Thank you all for what you have donated to me in the past. May peace be with you.
Love, Bryce
