HELP AHNORA SMILE AGAIN

How things can change in the blink of an eye.
Ahnora went to school on January 15th, 2024. When walking home, a freak accident happened and she was struck in the mouth with a cricket bat by another child. He was playing with some friends and somehow the bat and Ahnora's face connected.

Some real neighboring strangers brought her home to me, my child was able to direct them through the pain and all the blood coming from her mouth. (About 30 minutes later another stranger brought her teeth to me)

Here is where the slippery slope of events began, three teeth were knocked completely out of her mouth, two of which were permanent front teeth along with the gums that covered them, and one baby tooth barely hung on.

The following day Ahnora went into an emergency surgery and they did all they could to help her gums and put the teeth back in. Watching her sedated was not easy but necessary.

From this day onward, life as Ahnora knew it transformed drastically, she now had weekly dental visits, and was now forced to navigate life through these challenges. This took a toll on her mental health and by extension her self-esteem. Many days and nights we had to constantly remind her that she is still very beautiful. Children constantly teased her about her teeth and strangers would tend to stare a bit too long as some even pointed making her extremely uncomfortable.

After many consultations with the dentist and surgeons, it has now been determined that the initial procedures did not work and it was unhealthy for her to go on without further procedures.

Ahnora will now be faced with the dreaded reality in having to live with false teeth for the rest of her life. She went from being a joyous and happy child to now being very self-conscious with her new appearance. From being an extremely athletic and outgoing child to now being very timid and withdrawn and prefers to be indoors.

We have worked assiduously (long days and nights) to explore more affordable options, we even received some donations, however, that has barely scratched the surface. Her medical expenses continue to be far beyond our reach. These pending procedures are necessary, not only for the health of the child but also to aid in restoring her smile and by extension her confidence.

We appreciate any and all donations, as this will aid with the mountain expenses we continue to face. We have faith that Ahnora will someday be her normal self again and we are truly grateful for all the well wishes she receives.

Huge thanks to everyone that is assisting in any way they can.
