Support Adam Mandel's Fight Against Stage 4 Colon Cancer

Dear Family and Friends,

My name is Jessica Chase. I am a longtime friend and associate of Adam Mandel. Most of you know us from Ultimate Jam Night, our longtime residency at the Whisky A GoGo.

Recently, Adam has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon cancer. Initially, he was diagnosed with metastatic ascites, which created an intensively painful fluid build-up in Adam's abdomen. CT scans revealed a mass behind his colon, attached to his kidney, and that while the cancer is localized in that area, it has spread to the peritoneum, the tissue that lines the abdomen. This is an unusual case, and more tests are forthcoming to determine the exact type of cancer he has. For now, the doctors are calling it colon cancer that requires immediate treatment.

Adam has been very sick and has lost a significant amount of weight. He was admitted to the hospital last week for a series of emergency tests and surgery. His doctor is hopeful in the weeks coming that Adam will respond to what he calls an "aggressive" chemotherapy plan which is scheduled to start this Thursday, November 7th. He will undergo two chemo treatments per month for six months.

Despite this terrible news, Adam is staying positive, using humor, and remains mentally in a good space.
