Hi! My name is Abby Mack, and I’m a junior Film & Television student at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), working toward my BFA. I’m raising funds to bring my short film Before We Bloomed to life — a project I’ve written and will direct for my Directing the Narrative class.

About the film:

Before We Bloomed follows three girls who spend one last night together before following through on a suicide pact made years ago. It’s a heavy story, but to me, it’s also about the beauty and fragility of friendship, the pressures of girlhood, and the unspoken struggles young women face. This project is very personal to me, and my goal is to tell it honestly and with compassion.

We’ll be shooting on both film and digital. Using film adds a unique texture and intimacy that digital can’t fully capture — it will look incredible and really help strengthen the emotional weight of the story. But, film is also expensive, which is why your support is especially important.
