Communities across Pennsylvania are facing a growing challenge: large scale industrial developments being placed dangerously close to neighborhoods, natural preserves, farmlands and vital water resources. What is happening in our region, the Upper Perkiomen Valley, is not an isolated issue — it reflects a broader pattern threatening towns, wildlife habitats, and drinking water throughout the Commonwealth.
Right now, a large data center development has been proposed bordering Open Space, dozens of homes and an operating farm. The data center proposal is just steps away from Mill Hill Preserve, a sensitive natural area that supports wildlife, protects water quality, and provides outdoor space for families. While this project is located in the Upper Perkiomen Valley, the implications reach far beyond our township. When one community’s environmental protections are weakened, it sets a precedent that can affect any Pennsylvania town facing similar pressures.
We cannot allow decisions like this to move forward without scrutiny, transparency, and strong advocacy for the public interest.
To protect our community — and to help set a precedent for responsible land use across Pennsylvania — we urgently need to hire a land use attorney. Legal representation ensures that residents have a voice, that environmental impacts are fully examined, and that development decisions are made with long term public welfare in mind. Funds will also support community outreach efforts, including printed flyers and informational signs.
Your donation directly funds our Legal and outreach efforts. It strengthens our ability to stand up for clean water, healthy ecosystems, and the right of Pennsylvania communities to protect their character and safety.
If you care about preserving natural spaces, safeguarding drinking water, and ensuring that development in Pennsylvania is responsible and transparent, please consider supporting this effort. Every contribution helps us defend not just one township — but the values shared by communities across our state.
Thank you for standing with us and for helping protect Pennsylvania’s future.
