Help Rosie recover from a car accident

Donation protected
Last Friday, Rosie suffered a high impact car accident. She was a naughty girl and ran onto the 80km road outside of our house. My dad heard it happen and ran out to pick her up off the road. Fortunately she was alive and was rushed to the Angaston Vet where she had emergency surgery on her severed leg.

Luckily X-rays showed no broken bones but she suffered severe internal swelling and bruising which led to pulmonary contusion ( also referred to as hemorrhage of the lung). This condition was a much greater worry than her leg so we needed to collect her to transfer to Roseworthy Emergency Veterinary Hospital for further treatment and pain relief including fluid and oxygen therapy and be very closely monitored. Pulmonary contusion occurs when the dog’s lung is crushed or torn during a direct trauma to the chest. This was very scary news and we didn’t know if she would survive the night but she is a tough little girl.

Rosie is now home over the weekend and her lungs are starting to get better and today has undergone a second surgery on her leg to repair it as well as put in several drains to remove all the internal fluid.

Both Angaston and Roseworthy vets have been amazing and have thankfully helped her with her injuries and she is now staying at home to recover, but her vet bills are totalling over $6200 already and will likely grow with more care needed. As a family this couldn’t have come at a worse time for us financially and we cannot afford her vet bills but could not give up on our precious girl.

We would appreciate any amount big or small to help our little Rosie recover. Thank you for your love and support ❤️
