Hi, my name is Maya Makayla Davis, and I serve as the President of the Young Democrats of Clayton County. As a former 5th grade educator with Atlanta Public Schools, I saw firsthand that one of the greatest predictors of student success isn’t just curriculum — it’s preparation.

Every child deserves to walk into the classroom with the tools they need to learn, lead, and thrive.

Unfortunately, far too many of our students — especially African American children — are systemically disadvantaged before the first bell ever rings. When students lack basic supplies, they often feel left behind before they’ve even begun. But a simple backpack, a fresh notebook, a pack of pencils — these are powerful equalizers.

This summer, we're organizing a Back-to-School Drive across Clayton County and beyond, and we need your help.

Your donation will:

Provide essential school supplies to families in need

Support students in Title I schools and underserved communities

Remind our youth that they are seen, supported, and valued
