Donate PPE to a Rural Community in Perú
Donation protected
At the beginning of the pandemic, my mom and I started making face masks, donating 1:1 to medical professionals, local hospitals, and the local community. We knew we could do more.
My family is from Lima, Peru, and one of my mother’s friends (yes, strong woman!) was organizing donations for a local hospital; la Posta Médica del Caserío La Raya. It is located in Lambayeque, which is found in beautiful Northern Peru.
What is so striking is this— we know the pandemic is horrible in the US, but we have been able to come together as a country and fight our supply shortage. In a country like Peru, many hospitals are still unable to overcome this difficulty. As of December 1, 2020, more than 1/2 of Lambayeque's population has been confirmed with COVID-19, with one of the highest death rates in the region.
Giving back to the hospital in Lambayeque, la Posta Médica del Caserío La Raya really spoke to us not only because our family is from Perú, and we are humbled and grateful to be able to give back, but also because it has helped us bring our community together.
The photo that we have included is our first batch of donations to the community in Lambayeque, a small testament to the strength of our community. We are hoping that by posting this GoFundMe, you can donate and help join our efforts by sharing with your own circle of friends and family.
Thank you and happy holidays!
