Donate Pillow Pets for Harborview Pediatric Burn Survivors
Donation protected
Every year Addie Strode and her family raise funds and collect Pillow Pets for pediatric burn survivors of Harborview Medical Center located in Seattle, WA.
In 2011 Addie and her little sister Brooklyn were burned in a campfire accident at their Washington home. Brooklyn was released the next day, but Addie suffered full thickness burns to her face and hands and spent 48 long days in the Harborview Burn ICU.
Through this tragedy the Strode’s, already a licensed foster family, decided they should now focus on caring for medically fragile foster children. Fast forward 9 years and the Strode’s welcomed another burn survivor into their family. Bubby was burned at 8 months old. He is an amputee and severely scarred. But nothing stops this kid! Bubby was adopted this past year by the Strode Family bringing their family to the perfect number of 10.
The Strode’s love giving back! Year after year they open up each Amazon delivery with excitement and anticipation wondering what little stuffy will be concealed.
Each year hundreds of PillowPets are delivered by the Strode’s, a lunch for faculty and patient families is carefully laid out at Harborview.
This year there is a TWIST! Addie and her mom Sarah are asking for sponsorships as they will be skydiving with recently retired Harborview Burn ICU Nurse, Jenny Clayton. Nurse Jenny and Addie have been planning this since Addie was about 6 years old!
Sarah and Addie are facing their fears and jumping for awareness of burn survivors and what they endure, as well as the bravery they exude!
Please consider donating a monetary gift or sending us a PillowPet to be delivered July 2nd.
Each PillowPet will be counted as a $30 donation toward the overall goal.
Thank you so much for being part of this year after year!
