My wife has been without medical insurance since 2012 when she lost her reasonable private medical insurance to Obama Care. The government offered her a replacement policy that was higher than our house payment. Financially, we were in a gray area where we made too much money to get government-assisted insurance, but not enough to pay a $1,000 a month medical premium the government wanted.

From that point on, we paid cash for any medical issue she had and prayed she would make it the 13 years she needed to get to Medicare.

Well, today our luck ran out with just 3 months left to Medicare enrollment (our safety net).

It is now April and nobody will insure her, and she will need a mastectomy to remove (at least her left breast). Her oncologist said just the hospital bill could reach six figures. Her doctor said she can't wait 3 months and needs an operation now before cancer spreads any further.
