Dr. Clint Harper was a veterinarian at Cooper Veterinary Clinic in West Monroe, La., and he also served as the veterinarian for the Louisiana Purchase Gardens and Zoo for over 10 years. In February of 2024, he was tragically killed in a car accident, but through the local zoo, his memory will live on.

On Dr. Harper’s birthday, October 28, the Zoological Society kicked off a fundraiser that will raise funds to support building an on-site animal hospital in Dr. Harper’s honor! The short-term goal (3-6 months) is to raise enough money for a memorial bench overlooking the Tiger exhibit as Dr. Harper was instrumental in acquiring Maleah, the current Tiger at the zoo. The 2nd goal (2-5 years) is to build a fully functioning, state-of-the-art, on-site animal hospital at the zoo! Please donate to help us reach our goals!
