I'm a visual artist that paints musicians (see attached "Jolly J.A.H." 2024) and has a passion for "difficult music". I have a studio in the small coastal town of Milton Delaware a couple hours drive from major Mid Atlantic cities. I had a stage built in my backyard for what has become the annual MILTON NEW MUSIC & WIND FEST! This year, Sat. May 30, 2026 (2pm until dark), we will celebrate the extraordinary jazz composer JULIUS ARTHUR HEMPHILL (1938-1995) with free concerts by world class artists including Marty Ehrlich, The Hemphill Stringtet, Janel Leppin, Anthony Pirog, Luke Stewart, Brian Settles, Bob Boilen and more. The works of Milton Arts Guild artists, Fest t-shirts, and refreshments are for sale - with free parking. Make your donations today and plan your trip to the Delaware shore for the May 30-31 weekend. Spend Saturday with "The Music" and arts, enjoying Dogfish Head IPA fresh from the brewery, and spend Sunday exploring the wonderful neighborhood beaches (Lewes, Rehoboth, Bethany, or Cape Henlopen State Park).
