The Precious Memory of Mariah Matthews

I never imagined I'd find myself in this position, writing this on behalf of my sister and brother Marvin & LaLencia Matthews and especially not so soon. Yet here I am, reaching out on behalf of the Matthews family, particularly for their beloved Angel, Mariah.

Mariah Matthews graced this world with her light, taken from us far too soon. She was the kind of soul who would delicately return a worm to the soil to ensure its survival, or serve you breakfast in bed when you were feeling low. Her heart knew no bounds, embracing all creatures great and small.

Her laughter was infectious, filled with genuine joy that spread effortlessly. She found delight in simple pleasures like ice cream and the ocean, yet also reveled in creative pursuits such as baking, building with Legos, practicing aerial arts, and riding horses. Her home was a gallery of her artistic spirit, adorned with paintings, drawings, and sculptures that reflected her brilliance.

Even from a tender age, Mariah's intellect shone brightly. Her curiosity knew no bounds, and her quick wit often left others in awe. Hiking with her was akin to accompanying a modern-day Steve Irwin, her passion for nature and adventure evident at every turn. And her sense of style was unmatched, a true fashionista with a unique flair.

On Monday, April 15th, at just 12 years old, our earthly angel bid farewell, embarking on her journey to heaven. In the wake of this profound loss, many of you have reached out, asking how you can offer your support. With the future feeling uncertain, we are deeply grateful for your kindness. In honor of Mariah's memory and to stand beside the Matthews family during this challenging period, we have set a goal to raise $20,000. These funds will help alleviate the burden of associated expenses, allowing the Matthews family to navigate their grief without the added weight of financial stress.
