On the 1st of January 2025, Chris Thompson tragically passed away after a cardiac arrest.

A man of immeasurable creativity, Chris’s contribution to the creative life of Australia will live on. As a writer, broadcaster, artistic director and mentor, his generosity of spirit was extraordinary. The Industry will miss him enormously. More importantly, the love Chris held for his family and friends, and his ability to connect - on so many levels - are a testament to the person he was – humble, kind, warm and funny. We are all so fortunate to have known and loved him.

To ensure that Chris has a memorial that both celebrates his life and reflects the special person he was, we invite you to contribute to this fund. All proceeds will go directly to his loved wife Margot, cherished son Gully and his family to help organise a fitting tribute.
