Shontalea Thomas Nimmons, 49, of Beacon, NY, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025.

A devoted mother, proud grandmother (“G-Ma”), cherished sister, loyal friend, and beloved family member, Shontalea lived a life defined by compassion, resilience, and a deep commitment to others. She dedicated much of her professional life to helping individuals with mental disabilities, always advocating for dignity, care, and understanding.

Shontalea worked for IBM in Fishkill, NY, where her intelligence and strong work ethic earned the respect of her colleagues. She held both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree, a testament to her determination and love of learning.

Beyond her career and accomplishments, Shontalea will be remembered for her radiant spirit, infectious laughter, and the way she made everyone around her feel seen and valued. Whether through her work, her role as a nurturing G-Ma, or her unwavering support for friends and family, she touched countless lives with grace and love.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Shontalea’s memory to organizations supporting mental health and disability advocacy — causes that were close to her heart.
