Hi, my name is Mercy Monta. As a Rosie’s mom, this has been a difficult journey for us as a family. My heart aches today as my daughter Rosie is no longer with us as she was fought against her very rare genetic disorder named ZSWIM6. I am a widowed mother with four children; Reymon, Resee, Rosie, and Rizza; a sister to my siblings of three sisters, and a daughter to my mother, Rosita Monta. As a family, we immigrated to San Diego 3 years ago. Our lives has been a challenge since the Philippines and has been a relatively good life after arriving in the US. As many of my Filipino brothers and sisters can understand, life in the United States is not how I perceived it; it is cruel at times to be honest. And yet, grateful everyday to be with Rosie and my family going through the struggles and joy. Having to watch my daughter Rosie come in and out of Rady’s Children Hospital often weeks at a time has been emotionally painful and draining. The uncertainty of each day when she was here has been scrutiatingly painful. I owe my daughter Rosie Mae a proper memorial service. With that, I humbly ask for your donation as we have limited budget for her funeral expenses. Any amount will be greatly appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you all as I love my daughter Rosie Mae.
