Donate in memory of Roger Herrera

Dear friends or family,

I am writing to you today to let you know about the loss of Roger Herrera - son, uncle, brother, friend, a dear husband to Khanh-Duy-Nguyen or Sue Nguyen Herrera, and a wonderful brother-in-law of mine. Roger experienced a massive heart attack that took his life on July 3rd, 2022. It gives me peace knowing that he was having one of the best days with his loved one.

Roger was an angel with such a good heart. He worked tirelessly, taking care of unprivileged kids, the elderly, and mental health patients. He has such a young soul, obsessing over Godzilla, comic books, music, and pop cultures. We could never forget the enthusiasm whenever he talked about the things he loved. He was happy in Texas. He was happy in California. We want to believe that he fulfilled his dreams.

We are devastated by Roger’s passing and are struggling to find a way to pay tribute to this wonderful human being. Roger spent his whole life doing good deeds; therefore, we thought it is time for us to do something that lives up to his legacy. Please consider donating, big or small, to help Roger's family through this hard time. Anything would greatly be appreciated. We are so very grateful for every donation during this difficult time.

A note from Roger's family on his obituary: "He was a very caring man that dedicated his life to helping as a mentor and caregiver to kids at Guiding Light. He was an avid collector of figurines and all things Anime. Roger was a family guy who loved to spend time with his nieces and nephews and was known as “Kelito” by those closest to him.
Roger is preceded in death by his grandparents Fidencio and Irene Ybarra, and Adolfo and Estefana Herrera, as well as several uncles and aunts.
He is survived by his parents, Roger Sr. and Evangelina Herrera; wife Sue Nguyen Herrera; brother Michael Herrera Sr.; sister Yolanda Herrera Perez and her husband Adam; nieces and nephews Anthony J. Rios, Mia J. Herrera, Angelina I. Herrera, Michael Herrera Jr., Jace J. Juarez, Kaydence J. Herrera; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins."

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 14, 2022 from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm, with the reciting of the rosary at 7:00 pm at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday July 15, 2022 at 11:30 am at St. Philip Catholic Church in Texas.

With love,
Nini Nguyen.
