Hello everyone, my name is Lauren & I am the daughter of Neil.
My dad was sadly taken from us on the 12th April 2025 due to coronary artery thrombosis that resulted in a heart attack whilst out on one of his many loved coastal runs.
He was 51 years of age.
As you can imagine, my world has been ripped apart, having lost my dad so young - and this is the most painful thing I’ve ever faced.
For many of you, this news also comes as a shock; I have lost my dearest dad, but we have also lost a relative, son, uncle, colleague, neighbour, brother, or even a best friend.
My father was a warm, kind & courageous soul. His humour & intelligence was second to none.
My father was a keen athlete, taking on marathons, conquering triathlons, and always striving to be better than yesterday.
He was a qualified scuba diving instructor in his earlier years, an adventurous traveller & free spirit with a huge love for animals too.
He served 22 years of service in Cornwall’s NHS Trust - saving many lives via application development behind the scenes as well as voluntarily working during the pandemic to administer the COVID vaccines. My father often thrived in the face of adversity and always wanted to help others. He took his work in his stride, and it was his passion.
Dad was loved & admired by so many people in the county of Cornwall as well as up country. Many people will feel the void of my father’s passing.
I do not know where to start with arranging dad’s funeral - nor do I have the funds at the moment. I do not know as or when I will receive any finances from dad’s estate for his funeral & I know we all want to wish him the best send off possible. It may take some time and I anticipate a delay with this.
This has been tremendously stressful and accompanied with the grief of losing my dad, the worst week of my life.
When all I want to do, like many of my family and Neil’s friends, is say goodbye one last time in the chapel of rest.
Dad is currently being kept at a storage mortuary in Penzance - this does not have a chapel of rest so I feel my hands are tied and really need him somewhere to see him.
In order to do this - any donations or contributions towards dad’s funeral expenses would be MASSIVELY appreciated.
The sooner we sort this, the better.
I will also be making a donation to the RNLI & British Heart Foundation; due to the nature of my dad’s passing.
I have been told my many of dad’s close friends and work colleagues that people want to help, this will be the chance to.
Please help in any way you can, I would be beyond grateful and I want to give him the best send off physically possible.
Thank you for your generosity,
Lauren. x
