Dear friends, family, and community,
It is with deep sadness that we share the sudden passing of Mr. Monday (Mondale) Obed Nnaji, who left us far too soon. Having recently joined his wife Lovelyn in Canada, they were still in the early stages of building their life together when this tragedy struck. Lovelyn, who had just completed her postgraduate degree, was looking forward to a bright future with him. Now, she is facing an overwhelming loss—emotionally, mentally, and financially.
As we come to terms with this heartbreaking loss, we are rallying together to support Lovelyn during this incredibly difficult time. Funeral expenses in Canada can be extremely high, and with both of them still trying to settle into their new life here, the financial burden is even greater. As a community, we want to ease this heavy load and ensure he is laid to rest with dignity while also offering Lovelyn some stability during this painful time.
We are hoping to raise $40,000 CAD to assist with:
- Funeral and memorial expenses to honor his life and legacy.
- Immediate financial support for Lovelyn, who now finds herself alone in a new country without the financial means to navigate this unexpected tragedy.
If you had the privilege of knowing Monday, you know how much he meant to those around him. Mondale (as he was also fondly known) was deeply loved—by his wife, family, friends, colleagues, church, and his community. He was kind, extremely respectful, hardworking, and full of hope for the future. This was not the plan. We never imagined saying goodbye so soon. This is one small way we can come together to ease her burden and honor his memory.
Any contribution, no matter the amount, will provide much-needed relief. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser with others. Your kindness, prayers, and support mean the world to us. Thank you for standing with us in this time of grief.
