Donate in memory of our Beautiful Soul Melissa

On July 19th, 2024, we sadly lost Melissa Garcia—a cherished Mother, Daughter, Sister, and Friend. Since the age of 11, Melissa battled autoimmune disease, a condition where the body's immune system attacks the liver. Despite the challenges, she managed her illness with medication.

In January 2024, Melissa faced another devastating diagnosis: bile duct cancer. She fought this aggressive disease with unwavering determination, undergoing rigorous chemotherapy. Unfortunately, the autoimmune disease had also led to cirrhosis of the liver by 2023, complicating her treatment options. Despite her resilience, the cancer made her ineligible for a liver transplant.

Melissa leaves behind her beloved 13-year-old son, Kai, her partner Jeff, her mother Georgeann, father Ubaldo Garcia and her sister Carla Cordova. The financial burden of funeral expenses now weighs heavily on her family during this difficult time.
