This GoFundMe has been created to support the Larocque family after the devastating loss of their oldest son, Leo. Funds raised will help the family pay off remaining medical debts and also help cover the costs of planning a much-deserved celebration of life for their 15-year-old son, Leo.
Leo passed away on December 20, 2024, just one day before his 16th birthday, after a long and difficult battle with Ewing’s sarcoma. Losing Leo has completely devastated and dismantled Leo, Heather, and Rylan’s world. Finding the strength to simply make it through each day has proven to be a heartbreaking and challenging task. On top of the financial strain of medical bills, and with Big Leo missing work for an extended period (the last 6 months of Leo’s life, and the time of grieving afterwards), the Larocque family is still trying to recover financially.
They are at a place in their healing journey where they want to begin planning a celebration of life for Leo. However, they need a little help from their incredible community. It’s not uncommon to see fundraisers to help families with funeral, cremation, or memorial costs. The Larocque family did not choose to have a public or conventional funeral, as this was not what their son wanted. His wishes were to be celebrated, not mourned – to be remembered for the life he lived, not defined by the way he passed.
I know my cousin Leo and Heather would not want to ask for help, but I want to lessen their burdens in any way possible. There is nothing we can do to take away their heartbreak or sorrow, but we can come together to help ease their financial burdens.
All donations will go directly to the Larocque family and will be put towards paying off medical debt and planning a much-deserved, beautiful celebration of life for their incredible and deeply missed son, Leo Romeo Larocque.
