In loving memory of Keith William Brown, an incredible man to many people, who led an incredible life. Keith was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in March of 2023, an uncommon type of dementia that causes degenerative damage to the frontal lobes of the brain.
In the wake of his passing on the 21st of August this year, his family has created a fundraising effort in aid of Survival International, a cause Keith held close to his heart for much of his life.
He was a noble humanitarian and altruistic down to his core, everything he did was for the benefit of others.
During his life he worked hard to lobby important issues such as animal welfare, civil rights and social action, disaster and humanitarian relief, economic empowerment, poverty alleviation, topped off with a love for science, technology and the arts to name a few. Keith’s work as a herpetologist led him to the Amazon rainforest to oversee anti-venom extraction and research, conducting groundbreaking work in protecting the land and the indigenous people who cultivate it.
As his family we feel it is our duty to honour and continue his legacy and his passion.
More information about Survival International: “More than one hundred and fifty million people in over sixty countries live in Indigenous and tribal societies. They’re mostly self-sufficient and depend on their land for their health and wellbeing. To Indigenous and tribal peoples, land is life.
We exist to prevent the annihilation of Indigenous peoples and secure their land rights. We work with tribes around the world, and our uncompromising campaigns are rooted in these deep and enduring relationships. We offer them a platform to speak to the world, so that they can denounce the genocidal violence and racism they face on a daily basis. Through our lobbying, advocacy and public campaigns targeting powerful interests, we help defend the lives, lands and futures of people whose rights must be recognized.”
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that meant so much to Keith, and to us. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a difference.
”Keep smiling.”
