Donate in memory of Gary Rodney Banks

Hi my name is Lisa, and both myself and

my daughter, Billie are raising funds to help pay for the cost of my daughter’s father, Gary’s funeral. Gary lives in Jamaica and was shot and killed by gunmen on the 10th March 2025, in Montego Bay, Jamaica. This was a completely unprovoked attack. Gary was a hard working, kind and humble man. He valued life, and despite his struggles he always managed to make ends meet. He was a skilled carpenter and construction worker, he helped plan, design and build many well known popular resorts in Jamaica, such as Iberostar, RIU Aquarelle, RIU Palace, James Bond Beach, to name just a few. He also designed and built many luxury homes across the island. He was well known for his work, and he worked from sunrise until sunset. He was a wonderful father and grandfather, and a very much loved son. We are absolutely devastated that he has been so cruelly taken from us. He deserves only the best funeral to celebrate the man that he was, and so that we can finally lay him to rest. Jamaica is a third world country, and his mother would be very grateful and appreciative of any donations, however small, towards his funeral arrangements. We don’t know when the funeral will take place as yet, as there is still a police investigation ongoing, and the post mortem is only just taking place today 30th April, just over 6 weeks since he was killed. We want to give Gary the most beautiful send off that he deserves, as in Jamaica, not only are loved ones mourned, but their life is also remembered and cherished with celebrations of life, love and laughter.
